WebMail - Things to remember (if nothing else):
  • This service is made available to our subscribers for use when not at your main computer.
  • This is a web interface to the mail server, not a client program, so it will not download messages.
  • After starting a message in "Compose", if you click on any Hot-Button (except "Address Book"), you will lose the message and have to begin again by re-clicking on "Compose".
  • Messages put in the Trash folder *WILL BE DELETED OFF THE SERVER* when you logout.

How do the Hot-Buttons work?

Buttons do what they say and are about their name.

  • "Check Mail" will display messages currently in your POP3 box on the server.
  • "Compose" is used for writing and addressing new messages.
  • "Options" lets you change your Name and/or 'Reply To' address.
  • "Address Book" lets you:
    1. Edit the Pick List. see: What is the Pick List?
    2. Edit and add addresses to your default address book.
    3. Create additional address books.
  • "Logout" should be clicked on when ending a WebMail session and leaving the program.
  • "Forward" sets up a selected message to be forwarded to an address you choose.
  • "Delete" puts selected messages in the Trash - these *WILL BE DELETED OFF THE SERVER* at Logout.

What is the Pick List?

The Pick List is an 'Always open mini address book' which can be used to address messages with - when 'Add addresses automatically' is checked, any address you send to will be added to the Pick List - addresses also can be added to this field and deleted from this field manually (remember to click on 'save' after making manual changes).


How do I address a message using the Pick List?

Click on "Compose", click on an address in the Pick List - the address will be added to whatever field (To, CC, BCC) has the dot beside it.


How do I address a message using an "Address Book" entry?

Click on "Compose", click on the 'Addresses' button under the Pick List window, click on the nickname of the address you want to add - the address will be added to whatever field (To, CC, BCC) has the dot beside it.


How can I keep addresses from being added to the Pick List?

Uncheck the box next to 'Add addresses automatically'.


How do I get messages to be saved in the Sent folder?

Check the box next to 'Save a copy in copies to self folder'.
